The death is being investigated of a Limerick man with stab wounds whose car crashed into a roundabout.
The deceased, a man in his forties with an address in Limerick, was the only occupant of a car which refused to stop when approached by a patrol car last night. The driver sped along the N20 towards the city and crashed into a roundabout at Rosbrien.
When he was examined at the scene gardai found the man also had a stab wound. Gardai are investigating the possibility that the wound may have been self-inflicted.
The injured man died soon after arriving at Limerick Regional Hospital. Dr Margaret Bolster will conduct a post-mortem later today.
