Gardai investigating death of woman in Cork

The body of a 30-year-old woman has been found in an apartment over a barber's shop in Clonakilty in west Cork.

Gardai are treating the death of the mother of three as suspicious.

A 32-year-old man, believed to be Turkish, was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Forensic experts have been called the State Pathologist Marie Cassidy is due to carry out a post-mortem examination.

Town councillor Anthony McDermott said close-knit Clonakilty was struggling to cope with news of the death.
