Gardaí made 53 arrests at concerts held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Marlay Park in south Dublin.

Gardaí made 53 arrests at concerts held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Marlay Park in south Dublin.

Eighteen people were arrested at Thursday concert, which featured Britpop favourites Kasabian and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

There were 35 arrests at Friday’s concert at which David Guetta was the headliner. There were no arrests at last night’s concert involving Van Morrison and Tom Jones.

There were no reports of injuries at any of the concerts.

Gardai said the arrests were for public order and minor drug offence and added that a considerable amount of alcohol was also seized.

An unspecified number of people were refused entry to the concerts and more than 400 people under 17 obtained an advance refund for tickets to David Guetta from the promoter MCD as this concert was an age restricted event

Additional security measures were put in place for the series of concerts following violence at the Swedish House Mafia concert in the Phoenix Park.
