Gardaí have seized ammunition and an estimated €55,000 worth of what they believe is cocaine in Finglas and Mulhuddart in Dublin.

A search was carried out by gardaí at Rathvilly Park, Finglas, at about 9am, and drugs and what are believed to be nine shotgun cartridges and 40 rounds of .38 ammunition were recovered, a Garda statement said.

The drugs are believed to be cocaine with a street value of about €15,000.

A man and a woman have been arrested and are being detained at Finglas Garda station.

In a separate operation known as "Operation Torque", a Garda unit dedicated to targeting drugs and crime in Finglas, Blanchardstown and Cabra, carried out a search at Parslickstown Avenue, Mulhuddart, at about 9.30am.

Gardaí found what is believed to be cocaine with an estimated street value of €40,000.

One woman has been arrested and is being detained at Blanchardstown Garda station.
