Gardaí have released the name of a 19 year-old motorcyclist who died in a fatal road accident in Kilkenny yesterday.
The man who died yesterday when his motorcycle went out of control and crashed at Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny yesterday has been named as Stephen Byrne, age 19, from Peafield, Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny.
The name of a lorry driver who was killed this morning when his lorry went out of control and crashed in Co. Monaghan has not yet been released.
The man, understood to be in his forties, was killed at 3.15am today when the lorry he was driving hit a tree in Derrykinard, Ballybay, Co Monaghan. No other vehicles were involved.
The deceased was brought to Cavan General Hospital where a postmortem will take place.
Gardaí in Carrickmacross are appealing for witnesses.
A boy (16) was also killed in the Carrickmacross area yesterday when he was struck by a car early in the morning.
Elsewhere, a man in his 20s was fatally injured when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed at Slieverue, Co Kilkenny, at 3.55 yesterday.
