Gardai investigating the rape of a 17-year-old girl in a Dublin city centre bar on September 7th last are continuing to search for her attacker. Sources close to the investigation into the rape in the ladies' toilets of the George Bar in South Great George's Street say the process of elimination of potential suspects is likely to continue for some time.
Garda sources say there are difficulties identifying the attacker because the bar was very busy that night and although there was a closed circuit camera at the bar it provided only poor images of the man who appears to be stockily built with lightcoloured hair.
Meanwhile, the investigation continues into the abduction and rape of another young woman from Dublin city centre on September 26th. Three men with Dublin accents abducted the 19-year-old woman working as a prostitute in the Grand Canal area. She was taken to a forest near Ashford, Co Wicklow, raped and left handcuffed to a tree.
