Gardaí are searching for an armed gang after a raid on a post office close to the Border yesterday.
The raid took place at about 4pm in Bridgend, Co Donegal.
Armed response units from the Police Service of Northern Ireland and the Garda were alerted and the scene around the post office was sealed off as part of the ongoing investigation.
“A group of men entered the post office at Bridgend at approximately 4.30pm this evening, threatened staff and made off with cash,” said a Garda spokesman.
“There were no reported injuries and gardaí at Buncrana are investigating,” the statement added.
The raid is the latest robbery on the same post office. It was raided on June 8th last year when a gang made off with a large sum of money.
Other post offices in Co Donegal in St Johnston and Lifford have also been raided recently.
It is believed that the thieves escaped with only a small sum of cash.
