GARDAI investigating the 1992 murder of a Louth farmer, Colm Duffy, have made a fresh appeal to the public for information. Supt Eamonn Courtney of Navan, who is heading the inquiry, said the killing "is never stale in our minds".
Mr Duffy, aged 38, was found shot dead in his car at his home on the Kells Road, Collon on December 4th, 1992. He had last been seen alive on November 30th.
Last week the Garda questioned two Co Louth, men in connection with the crime, but both were released without charge. They were arrested separately and held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Supt Courtney said the file is still open despite the lapse of time.
"We have done as much as is humanly possible and still appeal to anyone with information to come forward. If anything comes to mind, if anyone remembers something they heard or saw, or if they know anything about the murder, we would ask them to come forward in confidence."
He asked people to phone Navan gardai at 046 21445, or any Garda station.
