GARDAÍ IN Blanchardstown have sought the public's help in the investigation into the suspicious death of a Lithuanian man in Clonee, Dublin on Thursday. No arrests have been made yet.
Gardaí were called to the house at Pheasant's Run on Thursday evening after receiving a report that a man's body had been discovered by other residents of the house.
It was initially thought that the 31-year-old had suffered a sudden death. The body was taken to Connolly hospital, Blanchardstown where a postmortem examination was conducted by Dr Michael Curtis, of the State pathologists' office. It found that the man had suffered head injuries and a Garda investigation was launched.
The house was preserved for technical forensic examination. The man, who worked as a mechanic, had lived in Ireland for several years and shared a house with other Lithuanians. His name has not been released yet as relatives are still being contacted.
A Garda spokesman said the public's help was being sought to help piece together the events which led to the man's death.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious or unusual in the Pheasant's Run area on or before Thursday, to contact them.
An incident room has been set up at Blanchardstown Garda station. It can be reached at 01-6667000, or the Garda Confidential Line can be contacted on 1800 666 111.
