Some 3,000 counterfeit DVDs with an estimated value of €80,000 have been seized by gardaí in Co Longford.
In a statement, the Garda press office said the fake DVDs were found after gardaí from Edgeworthstown carried out searches at five locations around the town. They were accompanied by officials from INFACT, the Irish National Federation Against Copyright Theft.
"A total of 3,000 counterfeit DVDs were seized with a value of €80,000 along with 60 imitation pellet guns.
"At two locations copying and production equipment was seized. The imitation pellet guns are currently being examined. No arrests were made during the operation," the statement said.
