The value of drugs seized in garda operations against a single Dublin gang this month tonight neared €20 million.
Drugs squad officers uncovered more cannabis in an ongoing search of an equestrian club in Rathcoole, Co Dublin that the major trafficking gang involved were thought to have been using as their distribution centre.
The latest development brought the total amount of the drug found today to 425kg, worth an estimated €5 million.
They were continuing to search 20 acres at the club.
The drugs uncovered today had been buried in the grounds. In linked events last weekend, 1,000kg of the drug were found - half in a car stopped at a garda checkpoint and the rest in a house nearby.
The value of that haul was put at €12 million, and other smaller quantities of drugs have also been located in connection with the same investigation in the past weeks.
Three people, one of them a woman, were held for questioning after today's find.
The cannabis was believed to have been earmarked for sale in Dublin and Limerick.
Gardaí have also seized a number of firearms in raids over the past few days, among them a sub-machine gun and pistols.
