Gardaí in Kildare have seized heroin with what they believe is a street value of about €400,000.
"As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in west Dublin, gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit last night searched an apartment in Abbeylands, Clane, Co. Kildare," a Garda statement said.
Two kilos of heroin was seized during the course of the search. Depending on analysis, the substance has a potential street value of €400,000, according to the Garda. A small amount of cocaine (€5,000) and "various drug paraphernalia" was also seized.
Two men, aged 29 and 23, both from Clondalkin in Dublin were arrested.
They are currently detained at Clondalkin Garda station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
"A number of follow up searches took place and investigations are ongoing," the Garda said.
