Gardai are treating the death of a 33-year-old Listowel man as a hit-and-run

Gardai are treating the death of a 33-year-old Listowel man as a hit-and-run. A postmortem by the assistant State Pathologist, Dr Margaret Bolster, found that Mr Denis Holly's injuries were consistent with having been involved in a road traffic accident.

His body was found on the Moybane Road, just off the main Listowel-Tarbert road, at 7 a.m. on Saturday by a passing motorist. Mr Holly, who was single, lived alone at Leitrim West, Moyvane, and was said to be popular.

Supt Michael Maher of Listowel Garda station said the gardai would like to hear fromi are particularly anxious to speak with anyone who travelled the road between 2 a.m. and 7.30 a.m. on Saturday.
