Gardai in Galway investigating the killing of taxi-driver Eileen Costello O'Shaughnessy (47) five weeks ago are anxious to contact three people who may be able to assist them with information on her last movements.

The investigating team at Mill Street Garda station wishes to talk to a blonde woman, thought to be in her mid-20s, who was seen near where Ms O'Shaughnessy's body was found at Knockdoemore, off the Tuam-Galway road, at about 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on November 30th.

The team also wishes to hear from a couple who called to the Galway Taxi office in Mainguard Street at about 7 p.m. on November 30th. Ms O'Shaughnessy is believed to have been in the vicinity of the taxi office at that time.

Gardai have been unable to identify a man seen jumping over a wall near where Ms O'Shaughnessy's Toyota Carina was found on the same night.

Two photofits of men in their mid-20s were issued last month and a reconstruction of the crime on RTE's Crimeline resulted in more than 100 calls.

It is believed that robbery was the most likely motive for the crime, as Ms O'Shaughnessy was due to hand over almost a full week's takings on the day she was found dead from head wounds in a lane near Claregalway.
