Thousand of people are taking part in the Gay Pride parade through a damp Dublin today.
The colourful event marks the conclusion of the capital's 25th Pride festival, which has celebrated the strides made in Ireland by the gay community over the last two decades.
The parade stared at 2.15pm in the Garden of Remembrance and street performers and floats are taking the traditional journey up O'Connell Street and Dame Street to Christ Church.
It will come to a spectacular close at a post parade rally at Dublin City civic offices.
Hosted by Miss Panti, it will include live performances from Brian Kennedy, Tara Blaise and Maria McKee.
Revellers will then end the 10-day Pride festival at a circus-themed party in the Tivoli.
The parade, second in size only to the St Patrick's Day parade, is one of many taking place world-wide to commemorate the Stonewall Riots of New York 1969.
It is themed Dublin Pride 25, Always the Bridesmaid, Never the Bride.
"The theme emphasises this year's historic importance, highlighting the positive changes which have taken place for Ireland's gay community in the past 25 years," said a spokeswoman.
"It also raises awareness of progress, which has yet to be made for our country's gay
community, particularly our lack of partnership rights."
