Special forces police arrested 11 members of a Palestinian organisation believed to be planning bomb attacks in Germany.

Special forces police arrested 11 members of a Palestinian organisation believed to be planning bomb attacks in Germany.

The police carried out 19 dawn raids yesterday in Berlin, Munich and Duesseldof and arrested suspected members of the al-Tawhid fundamentalist group that supports a global "jihad" or holy war.

The group was "predominantly involved in falsifying passports and travel documents, collecting money and smuggling "fighters" the statement continued.

Police removed computers, computer disks and false passports from the apartments searched.

Rachel Donnelly adds: Anti-terrorist police were questioning a British man and woman at a central London police station yesterday after several weapons were discovered in a car at Felixstowe port, in Suffolk.

The man and woman were stopped at the container port on Sunday but anti-terrorism police did not arrest the couple until yesterday morning. Police wouldn't disclose what group, if any, they were linked to only that they were British and white.
