Four out of five Germans fear price rises as a result of the euro's introduction, according to an opinion poll published yesterday. The Forsa Institute poll for Bildwoche found that 83 per cent feared prices would go up. Nearly half, 48 per cent, considered the euro less stable than the deutschemark, while 36 per cent feared there would be more counterfeit money around. Only 9 per cent said they had had no doubts about the euro.
