Madrid - A Spanish court yesterday condemned two former leaders of the Basque separatist organisation ETA to more than 1,000 years in prison each for a 1988 car-bomb attack that left two people dead.
Former ETA leader Francisco Mujika Garmendia, and his chief lieutenant, Jose Maria Arregui Erostarbe, were also convicted of 46 attempted killings and 20 cases of serious injuries. The carbomb attack against the headquarters of the civil guard in Madrid left two dead, including a two-year-old child, and 88 injured.
