THE HIGH Court has granted the Revenue Commissioners’ petition to wind up a car sales company after being informed it has failed to satisfy a demand from the Revenue for more than €140,000 in unpaid taxes.

Model and TV presenter Glenda Gilson and her brother Damien are listed as directors of the firm, Gilson Motor Company Ltd. Damien Gilson is also company secretary and he and Ms Gilson were directed to file a statement of affairs within 21 days.

Ms Justice Mary Laffoy yesterday made the order winding up the firm, of Annaly Drive, Ongar Wood, Dublin, after being informed it had not paid money sought by the Revenue. The judge appointed Gary Lennon of Lennon Corporate Recovery as liquidator.

The Revenue’s petition was not contested. Dermot Cahill, for the Revenue, said a demand was made to the company in October last year seeking €141,937 for unpaid VAT, PAYE and PRSI. That demand had not been satisfied and his client was seeking to have the company wound up and Mr Lennon appointed as liquidator.
