Two people, including a 13-year-old girl, were killed in road accidents yesterday. The girl, who was named as Leanne Murphy, was struck by a jeep at Rathcoffey Road, Ladychapel, Maynooth, Co Kildare, at 8 a.m.
It is understood that she was waiting for a school bus when the incident occurred. Gardaí are investigating.
A young male passenger was killed when a car struck a wall on Dublin's South Circular Road at 1.45 a.m. yesterday. A Garda spokesman said that a file would be prepared for the DPP.
The man who was killed when a van overturned in Co Waterford on Thursday has been named as Mr John Taylor (31). An 81-year-old woman who died after being struck by a car in Kinlough, Co Leitrim, on Thursday was named by gardaí yesterday as Ms Nan Rooney.
