A TEENAGE girl, who pushed her mother on top of a pram carrying her 15-month-old sister during a domestic row, has been remanded on bail pending sentence, by Judge Ann Ryan at the Dublin Children’s Court. The 17-year-old yesterday pleaded guilty to assaulting her mother and breach of the peace at their northwest Dublin home, on January 4th last.
Judge Ryan heard that gardaí arrived at the house and were told that the girl “had pushed her mother violently causing her to fall on her 15-month-old baby.”
The girl had also been threatening her mother until gardaí arrived and while being taken to the Garda station, she acted in a violent and aggressive manner.
Judge Ryan noted that there were Health Service Executive welfare reports on the girl furnished to the court.
She said a number of “supports” had been put in place to help the girl. She was warned that it was important for her to accept the assistance that was being made available, and also not to come to further Garda attention.
Sentencing was adjourned until March to allow time for a pre-sanction probation report on the girl to be obtained.
