The former television presenter Caron Keating has died at the age of 41 after fighting a secret battle with breast cancer. The former Blue Peter presenter and daughter of Gloria Hunniford was diagnosed with cancer seven years ago.
She kept news of her illness from all but her family and closest friends.
She died at her mother's home in Sevenoaks, Kent. Her family - she is survived by her two sons, Charlie, nine, and Gabriel, seven, and husband Mr Russ Lindsay, a talent agent - said the death had left an "unfilled void".
The former presenter moved to Australia with her husband and children two years ago, although her family home remained in Cornwall. She grew up near Hillsborough in Co Down and her first presenting work was for the BBC in Northern Ireland.
But she made a name for herself in 1986 as presenter on BBC1's Blue Peter, taking on daredevil stunts, such as jumping under freezing waterfalls and abseiling down cliffs.
After leaving Blue Peter in 1990, she moved to prime time television, becoming entertainment correspondent for ITV news bulletin London Tonight.
