THE ECONOMY may be at a record low and the national mood is not much better. But the good news is that the weekend will see the return of a little bit of summer.
The advice is: head west, find a nice sheltered spot and enjoy temperatures of up to 21 degrees. While it lasts, in any case.
Forecasters have said that very little rain is expected over the coming week and temperatures will be unseasonal for the month of October.
Today and tomorrow will be bright, though breezy and warm temperatures, including higher night values than the average October day will be a weekend feature. And the settled weather is expected to continue for the next week with very little rain, although temperatures will cool after the weekend.
The best place to experience this Indian summer weather, especially today, is a sheltered area in the west or northwest where temperatures will hit between 17 and 20 or maybe 21 degrees.
“It’s staying very mild, quite breezy and most places will be dry,” according to Met Éireann forecaster Deirdre Lowe. Nighttime temperatures will be warmer at 13-16 degrees than normal October daytime values of 13-14 degrees and will remain so for most of next week. It will be warmest today at up to 21 degrees and slightly cooler tomorrow at about 19 degrees and breezy along the east coast. And for next week “it’s looking fairly settled with very little rain”, said Ms Lowe.
