The Cuirt International Festival of Literature in Galway city is renowned for its intimate and low-key atmosphere. This year's festival, which opens on Monday next and runs until Sunday, April 25th, offers an opportunity to listen to and mingle with writers from a diverse variety of countries including the US, Canada, Malawi, Nigeria and Russia. Irish and English writers are also well represented in the lively programme.
The opening event features Waterford-born travel writer Dervla Murphy and veteran short story writer and storyteller Ben Kiely in conversation with Lelia Doolan at the Town Hall Theatre on Monday at 8.30 p.m. £6/£5. (See Readings for other Cuirt events.)
