* MONAGHAN RHYTHM AND BLUES FESTIVAL: features three days of blues artists from the US, Europe and Ireland

* MONAGHAN RHYTHM AND BLUES FESTIVAL: features three days of blues artists from the US, Europe and Ireland. Events include a late-night marquee showcasing top US acts from 10pm until late each night. Market house hosts acoustic acts through the weekend.

* GLENTIES HARVEST FAIR: One of the oldest festivals in Ireland, running for almost 300 years in Donegal. Running from September 8th-11th, it features a kids' fun day, clay pigeon shooting, tractor run, tug-of-war and live music. See glenties.ie

* MULLAGH FAIR DAY: In Mullagh, Cavan, tomorrow, from noon-7pm. Events include street entertainment, farmers market, dog show, vintage cars, falconry, reptile displays, traditional farm yard ,pig-roasting and buying and selling of livestock. There is €1,000 to be won in a street entertainment contest.

* HILLBILLY TRACTOR RUN: On tomorrow in Blessington, Co Wicklow. Nearly 400 tractors and 2,000 people are expected. Tractors, machinery and cars assemble at Lacken from 8am-11.30am and head to Blessington to link up with 2pm parade.

* DINGLE TRAD FEST: Ireland’s newest trad fusion music festival is in west Kerry. It features night and lunchtime concerts, a session trail and outdoor events including a session on top of Mount Brandon. Evening concerts at the Hillgrove hotel in Dingle town. Tonight features a trad disco.
