A golfer who was struck on the head by a ball after a "viciously hooking" shot has been awarded £5,250 damages against Leopardstown Golf Centre, Foxrock, Co Dublin.
Mr Richard Gray, Coolevin, Ballybrack, Co Dublin, told Judge Liam Devally in the Circuit Civil Court yesterday that he was felled on the second tee by a shot from the ninth tee.
Awarding Mr Gray damages and costs, the judge said a net or fence would have protected him from injury and he had to hold the golf club at fault.
