Whether cold weather will dampen spirits at this weekend’s Heineken Green Energy festival in Dublin will be seen tomorrow as the usual cold and showery bank-holiday weather kicks in.

Those who have decided to stay in Dublin for the holiday weekend can expect dry but cool conditions for tomorrow and Sunday, although showers - long showers - are forecast for Monday.

The rest of the country is unlikely to fare much better with rain expected in the West over the course of the three days with temperatures dropping as low as 4 degrees tomorrow night.

This afternoon, traffic is moving well on the N3, according to AA Roadwatch. To avoid delays later at Navan motorists are advised to stay on the N2 and head north through Ashbourne and Slane.

N4 traffic is expected to move well for once, following the opening of the Enfield by-pass but avoid the village to avoid delays.

Both Stena Line and Irish Ferries sailings are running according to schedule are expected to continue to do so over the weekend.

All major airports are operating as normal with no delays at Cork, Shannon or Dublin.
