Green Party leader Mr Trevor Sargent today presented his two "experienced" candidates selected to fight the Kildare North and Meath by-elections.

Councillor JJ Power will run in Kildare North, and Mr Fergal O'Byrne will contest Meath.

Speaking today, Mr Sargent said "the people of Kildare and Meath badly need the benefits of Green policies and more Green representation.

"Implementing Green policies would deliver a rail line to Navan, proper primary healthcare in both Kildare and Meath, and well-planned schools with facilities, built at the same time as housing and not just as an afterthought," he added.
