Wallabies captain George Gregan is expected to shelve retirement plans and continue his international career next season, Australian Rugby Union boss John O'Neill said today.
Gregan told reporters after Australia's loss to England on Saturday that he would decide his playing future in the next month but O'Neill told a Sydney radio station that Gregan had indicated he would re-sign for another season.
"George is going to play on...he's signed up, the ink's not dry on the paper, but he is playing on," O'Neill said.
O'Neill also revealed coach Eddie Jones would see out his contract, which has another year to run.
"Eddie is staying on until at least the end of his contract and may well go beyond that. We'll have a good chat, he's done a great job...I've never met a bloke who works harder."
Gregan is already the world's most capped scrumhalf with 95 test appearances and another season would see him pass David Campese's Australian test record of 101 caps.
