Athens - November 17, the Greek urban guerrilla group that murdered British diplomat Mr Stephen Saunders on an Athens street six months ago, yesterday said he was their most important target in 25 years.
In a statement published by the daily Eleftherotypia newspaper, the group repeated its claims that Mr Saunders, the defence attache at the British embassy in Athens, was deeply involved in the Kosovo war.
November 17 shot Mr Saunders on his way to work on June 8th. He was its 23rd victim since the killing of CIA station chief Mr Richard Welch in 1975. Britain has denied that Mr Saunders was directly involved in the Kosovo war.
