Do you want to become a TV star with your friends? Would you like to let the country see how you and your gang get along? If so, read on.
A film company is searching for a group of young people from the midlands to take part in a fly-on-the-wall documentary for RTE television.
The circle-of-friends documentary will be filmed by Video Adsell, of Lynn Cross, Mullingar.
Just Another Kid in the Back of Beyond is the title for the film, which will attempt to show life in the regions, a subject the company believes is not well represented on Irish TV.
Ms Rachael Moriarty is seeking a group of friends aged 18-35 from the same regional town.
The circle need not be too big: three main people would be sufficient.
She is looking for people who share a friendship out of a common past: perhaps people who went to the same school and who are now in a period of transition.
The film will examine the various lives of the different people; how they interlink and how they grow apart.
This will form the narrative for the series.
She said some of the friends might have stayed in the locality, others may be working in different towns and some may have left the country to work abroad.
"We are still looking for the right group of people, and while we have had some replies to stories which have appeared in local newspapers, we are looking for more applicants.
"We are looking at the best way to portray life in the regions, and this is a good vehicle for the purpose," said Ms Moriarty, who is from Wicklow.
"The film will form part of RTE's regional programming strand, and I will be co-directing it with Peter Murphy, who is from Kildare.
"We would love to meet the right people before Christmas so we can get started on it, because we think it is a very good programme idea," she added, explaining that the title of the film was intended as a wry comment on how rural Ireland is often viewed by city-dwellers.
