A Dublin man has been convicted at the Central Criminal Court of indecently assaulting one of his sisters over 25 years ago. The jury found the 47-year-old north city man guilty on three charges of indecent assault on dates from 1973 to 1978, but failed to reach any verdict on six rape charges in relation to the same sister and one charge of indecent assault on a second sister.
Earlier, Mr Justice Roderick Murphy directed the jury to return verdicts of not guilty on three further indecent assault charges in relation to the first sister. He sent the jury to a hotel and adjourned the hearing until this morning.
