Srinagar - At least 14 people were killed in gun battles in the troubled Kashmir valley yesterday, on the eve of a two-day summit between leaders of India and Pakistan.
Indian defence and police officials said four soldiers, four policemen and two militants were killed in a gun battle near Sahdipora village, 40 km north of Srinagar.
In Lahore, more than 1,000 Pakistani protesters yesterday demanded that India leave Kashmir.
