Gunfire follows burning of car

Gardai are investigating two shooting incidents in Dublin at the weekend. In Finglas, gardai said a row developed after a man drove a car into Whitestown estate and set it alight. A resident who told him to burn it somewhere elsewhere was ignored. A little later another man entered the estate armed with a shotgun and fired at the resident who had complained. The injured man was taken to the James Connolly Mememorial Hospital.

The second incident took place at Cappogue on the Finglas-Ratoath road. Gardai said four men were sitting in a stationary car. Two other men approached it from behind and one fired a shot into the back window. One was hit, but was not seriously injured.
