A helicopter near-miss in which the Mr Hague was reportedly just seconds from death was yesterday under official investigation.
Mr Hague's Sikorsky S-76 was understood to have had to bank suddenly to avoid being hit by another helicopter over Shropshire on Tuesday. He praised his pilot, Mr Andy Beattie, for his actions.
"We were all very calm. We had good reason to be. We have one of the best pilots in the business," Mr Hague told the Sun.
The incident took place at 2,500 ft near Bridgnorth in Shropshire at 2.45 p.m.

In the helicopter with Mr Hague were his wife, Ffion, four aides - including Mr Sebastian Coe - and a Special Branch officer.
