London - The Deputy Prime Minister, Mr John Prescott, yesterday poured scorn on the Conservative Party leader's, Mr William Hague's, claim that he downed 14 pints of beer a day when he was a teenager, suggesting that it was a case of the exaggerated "fisherman's tale".
In an interview for GQ Magazine Mr Hague recalled how he would regularly drink gallons of beer while delivering supplies for his father's soft drinks business.
"I think that is like the fisherman's tale - how big was the fish you caught? This big, OK then keep on drinking," Mr Prescott told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.
