Formula One:Lewis Hamilton will not be making any demands of McLaren at the end of the season whether he wins the Formula One drivers' title or not, such is the confidence in the rookie driver's camp.
The 22-year-old is on the verge of becoming both the first newcomer champion and the youngest after victory at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday gave him a 12-point championship lead with two races remaining.
It has been suggested that Hamilton's sensational debut season could see his basic wage at the British team multiply by a factor of 10 to around £20million but his father and representative, Anthony, insists he will not be forcing the issue with McLaren chief Ron Dennis.
"We have the same contract from when we signed up for this job but everything changes after a while, doesn't it?" he said. "We won't be asking for anything.
"We will be waiting as normal to be given things as it's much better to be given than when you ask," he added. "But I'm sure we won't have to wait long. We are in a long-term relationship at McLaren."
