Champion Hurdle hero Hardy Eustace will complete his Cheltenham preparations with a run at Gowran Park tomorrow.

Champion Hurdle hero Hardy Eustace will complete his Cheltenham preparations with a run at Gowran Park tomorrow.

The eight-year-old will tackle the Grade Two Red Mills Trial Hurdle before heading back to Prestbury Park to defend his title.

Hardy Eustace was a short-head second to Georges Girl in this race last year and trainer Dessie Hughes is hoping for a good run despite the forecast testing conditions.

He said: "He's done well since that run. It will be heavy ground tomorrow but he does go on soft and heavy, although he is a better horse on good going.

"We haven't really looked for another race for him as he ran well in this last year. This will be his last run before Cheltenham."

Dermot Weld's Ansar, fifth in the Breeders' Cup Chase in America on his last start, heads the five rivals for Hardy Eustace.

Penny Rich, Say Again, Sky To Sea and L'Antartique complete the field.
