The Tánaiste and the Minister for Finance are expected to be among the guests today at the wedding of Ms Anita Farrell of Blackrock, Co Dublin, to the Ryanair chief executive, Mr Michael O'Leary.
It is not known if other ministers in addition to Ms Harney and Mr McCreevy have been invited to the big day, which begins with a service in St Livinius Church in the small village of Delvin, Co Westmeath, at 3 p.m. today followed by a reception at Mr O'Leary's Gigginstown House estate, also in Westmeath. Mr O'Leary has recently built a swimming pool and courtyard at his estate in preparation for what is expected to be one of the most glamorous and lavish weddings of the year.
Last May Mr O'Leary announced his engagement to Ms Farrell, who is in her late 20s and works in the Dublin headquarters of Citigroup, one of the world's largest financial services companies.
It is believed the couple will spend their honeymoon on the exotic Indian Ocean island of Mauritius.
It is not the first time Mr O'Leary, who at 41 was thought to be a confirmed bachelor, has been poised to tie the knot. He was due to marry Ms Denise Dowling, a secretary, in July 2000 at a church service in Mullingar, but the wedding was called off at short notice.
