Padraig Harrington is two up after 18 holes on fellow Irishman Darren Clarke in the World Match Play Championship at Wentworth, with the second 18 holes still left to play.
Harrington took the lead twice on the first and fourth holes only for Clarke to level it on the second and seventh holes. Just before the turn-around Harrington managed to put some daylight between the two by winning eight and nine.
Clarke did pull one back at 12 but a bad putt at the 13th handed the initiative back to the Dubliner.
In the other matches Lee Westwood trails Thomas Bjorn by two, Ian Woosnam is three up on Colin Montgomerie, while, Vijay Singh is two ahead of Sam Torrence.
