Striker John Hartson wants to stay at Celtic for the rest of his career, the player's agent has said.

Striker John Hartson wants to stay at Celtic for the rest of his career, the player's agent has said.

The Welsh international has just one year left to run on his contract but has expressed a desire to sign an extension to the current deal.

"He is very happy at Celtic and his conditions are right and he wants to stay for the rest of his career," agent Jonathan Barnett said. 
 
"I'm not going into any more detail but he has put his injury problems behind him and wants to stay at Celtic."

Hartson said: "I've just bought a new house and my family is settled in Scotland so I would now hope to stay for a few more years.

"They should be the best years of my career too because I feel more like 25 than 29 now and I am working hard to be ready for pre-season after my operation.

"As far as I'm concerned I want to take an active part in that and then get
on with the domestic season and Europe again.

"There's no better place to play your football than in front of 60,000 fans
at Celtic Park and I have vital years ahead for the club and for Wales."
