Liam Hayes has tendered his resignation as Carolw football manager after two years in charge. The news came after yesterday's defeat by Leitrim in the semi-final of the Tom Murphy Cup.
"I have a lot of work on at present so I wouldn't be able to give the commitment that the Carlow job demands," Hayes said to the Irish Independent.
"I have no doubt that Carlow will make progress over the next few years. They have a solid squad and if they continue to put in the work they will improve. I enjoyed my time with them - they are a good group and I hope they get some rewards in the coming years."
