MR G from Clontarf and Ms R from Sligo have been reading with interest our recent articles on the arrival of BUPA and the ways in which to ensure as comprehensive health care insurance as possible for families. Both readers have asked us for telephone numbers and addresses of the Hospital Savings Association (HSA) and the Hospital Saturday Fund (HSF), which we are happy to provide as well as those of the VHI and BUPA:
. The Hospital Savings Association (HSA), Europa House, Dublin 2, Tel. (01) 8403500.
. The Hospital Saturday Fund (HSF), Ulster Bank Chambers, 12 Lower O'Connell Street, Tel. (01) 8742136.
. BUPA Ireland, 8 Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2. Tel: 6627662.
. Voluntary Health Insurance (VHI), Upper Abbey Street, Dublin 1 Tel. (01) 872 4499 (VHI also has offices in Dun Laoghaire, Cork, Galway, Limerick.).
Each of the companies provides simple to follow tables on how to calculate the cost of premiums, but a more useful exercise, if you wish to compare value, is to look very closely at both the benefits and the exclusion lists and with this information decide the best plan or combination of plans for you.
