Now that winter is on its way and the hours of daylight will be getting noticeably shorter over the coming weeks, it’s even more important to make sure that you are visible if you are out and about in twilight and darkness.
If you usually walk or run early in the morning or in the evening, make sure you have reflective gear and stick to well lit routes. If you cycle, carry spare lights in your bag so you are not caught out by the sun setting earlier than you are used to (or if you are out unexpectedly late), and wear a jacket that helps other road users to see you too.
And if the thought of going out on your own during the darker hours puts you off working out, see if you can join a group that trains at that time. You could find the company is a motivation as well.
