In preparation for its national rollout, BreastCheck, the national breast-screening programme, has embarked on a recruitment drive.
The service is seeking lead consultant general surgeons and senior lecturers with a special expertise in breast surgery for its new clinical screening units in Cork and Galway. The western post will be based at University College Hospital Galway and the National University Ireland, Galway (NUIG). The southern post will be based at the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital and UCC.
BreastCheck is also inviting applications for four consultant radiologists and two consultant histopathologists to be based in Cork and Galway.
NUIG is seeking a professor in nursing (€106,914-€136,298 per annum) as well as three lecturers in nursing (€52,136).
The HSE is seeking applications for a consultant general adult psychiatrist with a special interest in substance misuse for Longford/Westmeath Mental Health Service and a consultant psychiatrist in the psychiatry of old age for the midwest region (salaries €169,007). The HSE is also inviting applications for a consultant general surgeon with a special interest in gastrointestinal surgery for Cavan General Hospital/
Monaghan General Hospital and three consultant obstetrician gynaecologists for Cork University Maternity Hospital (€160,504).
