CALCUTTA Rescue is a charity set up in West Bengal by Dr Jack Preger in 1979. It provides medical aid - including a leprosy clinic and a mother and child programme - as well as running two free schools for street children and a spinning and weaving training project. The work is funded by contributions from abroad (including Ireland), but the Indian Government has apparently withdrawn its permission for Calcutta Rescue to have access to these funds. "LOSS, Change and Creativity" is the title of a workshop which takes place from March 1st to 3rd. Organised by the Irish Group Analytic Society, the workshop will include a talk by Dr Rosemary Gordon, of the Society of Analytic Psychology in London, as well as experimental work in groups on responding creatively to loss.
