There have been a further 1,051 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland, the Department of Health has said. As of Sunday morning, there were 319 patients in hospital with the disease, with 60 in intensive care.

On Saturday, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan warned people to be extra careful in the weeks ahead.
He said: “Unfortunately, we’re heading into that time of year when being out and about all of the time is a bit more difficult, the weather isn’t going to be as good.
“And it’s important now that we’re really mindful of the kinds of risks that are important for us to try to avoid.”
