We are constantly multitasking with smart phone in hand, but studies have shown we are less satisfied by foods when our minds are distracted. We might not taste flavours fully, prompting us to eat more.

According to this article in Harvard Health, paying more attention to what you eat can help with your waistline. It suggests mindful eating as a way to do this: set a timer for 20 minutes and spend the whole time eating one normal-sized meal.

So put down the device, step away from the TV and enjoy your meal.
