Warm up gently before beginning exercise. Walk or cycle on an exercise bike for 10-15 minutes to warm the muscles and increase the heart rate.

Technique

Sitting on a chair, place your palms behind you and gently slide your buttocks off the seat. Ensure your stomach muscles are held in tightly and your feet are hip distance apart. With your palms flat on the chair and fingertips facing your back, lower and dip your buttocks by bending your elbows, hold for 20 seconds and return. Avoid locking your elbows on returning upwards. Breathe in on the dip and out on the raise. Do three sets of six to eight repetitions.
