Trained guides will lead a group of walkers to the top of Lugnaquilla in the Wicklow Mountains on Saturday at 5.30pm for the Barnardos Full Moon Trek.

Participants are asked to raise €175 for the children’s charity in advance of the six-hour hike. Booking on tel: 01-7080480.

Sheila O’Malley from Practical Parenting will lead one-day parenting workshops over the next few weeks.

Ninety-four per cent of foods with precautionary allergen labelling do not contain detectable levels of the allergen referred to, according to a new survey by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.

While this indicates a high level of unnecessary precautionary labelling for peanut, eye and soya ingredients, the authority says samples also showed that peanuts were detected in 2 per cent, and soya and egg in 5 per cent, of products with no allergen labels. See fsai.ie for full details.
